Longwy France 1875-1939 Square Enamel

This stunning piece would have been used as a hot plate stand.

Made between 1875-1939 based on the mark beneath.

It displays the characteristic bleu de Longwy. It is this distinctive color as well as the finely crackled effect of the enamel across the surface, that distinguishes Longwy enamels, or émaux de Longwy.

The colours in this piece are incredibly vibrant. It would be stunning in a gold frame and hung as a piece of art.
