19th Century French marbled earthenware Jaspe jug

Beautifully patinated 19th Century French jug with unusual colouring.

The jug is made a style known as Jaspe ware which is known for its striking random swirling patterning and colouring.

The interior with a pale creamy ochre glaze and the jug has an unglazed base.

Wonderfully worn with age and a patina of chips, crazing and cracks – consistent with decades and decades of constant usage.
